Privacy settings in the EESZT

All your healthcare documents and data stored within the EESZT are only accessible to your general practitioner and your medical specialists. Pharmacies only have access to the relevant data concerning your prescriptions. You can keep track of and permit access to your medical data at all times by using the different settings on our website or personally at the Government Customer Service.

It is available to customize the EESZT with your own privacy settings

  • All your healthcare documents entered into the EESZT are solely available to your general practitioner and your medical specialists.
  • Pharmacists can only see the data required for the issue of prescriptions.
  • You can set your account to send you a system-generated email informing you of certain events that take place in your account.
  • You can continuously keep track of events informing you of any access to your data.
  • You can set access restrictions to the visibility of your medical record managed by the EESZT.
  • The EESZT offers for citizens four different status that covers all possible options for your healthcare data protection.

Every patient has the right to personally control his or her medical record. To protect personal data, the system enables each person to limit other medical professionals’ access to his or her medical record stored within the National eHealth Infrastructure (EESZT) for the future. Digital consent management is disposed in Act XLVII of 1997 amended by Act CCXXIV of 2015 on the Processing and Protection of Medical and Other Related Personal Data.

Should you limit the access of documents and medical records to your general practitioner and medical specialists by changing the privacy settings, it is however highly recommended to carefully and responsibly making these settings.

Advantages of online privacy settings

  • You can set your own privacy status and you can reset it at any time.
  • In the access log a chronological list of all EESZT actions (queries, uploading data and documents) regarding you can be obtained. You can filter your results to a specific time interval within the list.
  • You can also set who you inform about the restrictions.
  • The EESZT via a given email address can inform you about any uploaded data or documents (e.g. medical reports, prescriptions).
